She stands on her hands
when she drinks bits of whisky
She dances and twirls
and she feels simply frisky
I am glad to be participating in this years One World One Heart event (better late than never). I can't believe how many people from so many places around the world have been generously reaching out through their blogs with their creations! What a great way to get to know fellow artists.
The giveaway prize I am offering on my blog for the OWOH event is a bright paper doll, sturdily made using several layers of papers and paints. She is made to last while she decorates your office cubicle, hangs out on your studio inspiration board or holds a page in your favorite novel. Her bodice reads "Simply Frisky".
OWOH was created by Lisa Swifka last year as a 'giveaway event to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way'. Click the OWOH logo for more info on this spectacular event!
To win this doll, all you need to do is leave a comment on this post by February 11th. Since I'm all about childhood memories, I would love to hear what your favorite childhood memories are. Whether it be the days you went to the park with your siblings or when you went to your first sleepover or a favorite toy you had; if it brings a smile to your face, share it!
The winner will be randomly chosen and announced on my blog on February 12th. Just remember to leave an email address so I'll be able to contact you if you win. (Your email won't be added to a mailing list or given away).
My favorite family memory is camping!

Simply Frisky is fabulous! I love her!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite childhood memory (well, maybe not favorite, but one that always makes me smile and laugh) is of playing in the neighborhood park with my best friend. We were about 6 yrs old (ahh the days when it was safe to play in a park without parents around!). We climbed the monkey bars, when my niece became suddenly afraid of heights and refused to come down. She was crying. I had to run down the road to get my dad so that he could lift her down.
We still joke about that whenever she has to climb a ladder. I remind her that I cant run and get dad if she freezes up!
Hugs,
Heidi

ReplyDeleteMy favorite memory from my childhood is from before I moved to Florida. I was about 2-3 years old (we moved to FL just before I turned 3). I was sitting on my Dad's shoulders as we walked through the woods. The ground was covered in snow, my Mom and brother were there. Our dachshund Carl was following a rabbit trail. He followed it to the rabbit's den, and my father yelled at him to leave the rabbit alone.
That's my favorite memory...
Please add me to your drawing. My favorite childhood memories are of the summers I spent with my grandparents.

your writeup and your girl are wonderful. Renee
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in your giveaway. Lovely doll! Favorite childhood memories would include "building" playhouses in the woods or the field below the house. When playing in the woods, we made walls by layering sticks and then clearing the area inside. In the field, we mashed down the grass to make our little place to play in. In the fall or early winter, you could get below the tall, dry, weedy grass and be out of the wind to stay all warm. I remember using rocks for plates or serving dishes, making mud pies and picking mimosa seed pods for "food".
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful paper doll. So very creative. My favorite family memory would have to be coloring. We would sit for hours coloring and laughing. Good clean, simple fun. :)Please enter my name in your generous give-away. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteShe is such fun! I used to love to play with my dolls when I was little! The best part for me was setting up their "town." I would create houses out of anything and everything I could find and build an entire city with cars and parks, and everything they needed!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful doll! I'd love to give her a new home. :) Please count me in!
ReplyDeleteFavorite childhood memory... it's hard to choose. I recently lost my granddad, so memories of him are at the forefront of my mind lately - he used to make apple jelly every summer from the apples that grew on two trees in his back yard. I remember spending the night with them and when I'd wake up in the morning, the whole house would be steeped in that warm apple smell while he simmered the juice for the jelly. That's a good one. :)
And please do feel free, too, to stop by my blog to enter my own OWOH giveaway!

What a beutiful blog! Glad to find you. I would love to be entered in your give away! Now, let me think... I think my favorite childhood memories are those spent on my grandparent's farm. I would stay there in the summer and roam all over the property, catch frogs, play in the ponds, hike the woods to the waterfall and play with all of the animals. What makes it even better is being able to take my own children there now and continue making memories! Thanks for the grin from sharing my memory!
ReplyDeletethis gal is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! My favorite childhood memories always revolve around the holidays- especially Christmas- where it wasn't the gift-getting that mattered, it was the gift making and giving!
